New Discovery

I recently started using boxee as one of my main tv viewing platform. I have had it for awhile on my apple tv, but we added a boxee box to the system in the basement. Basically boxee pulls content from across the web and you would not believe how much content is out there.

Here are a few observations about boxee:

  • Really simple to use and set-up
  • Real content power comes from adding applications. Navi-x is one of my favorites
  • Almost any movie you can think of is out there
  • Sometimes you need to be patient as it can take time for the content to stream
  • The only drawback I can see to not move from satellite/cable is an ability to watch live sports

If you have ever tried boxee, I would love to hear your feedback and what apps you use?

Free Movies on Cereal Boxes

It amazes me how often you can find great deals on cereal boxes if you buy the right cereal and take the time to do a quick look down the cereal aisle. Today I noticed free juice, free yogurt, free fruit and free movies!

If you regularly go to the movies, this is a deal you cannot pass up! The coupons can be found on General Mills cereals like: Cheerios, Fibre 1 and a bunch of sweet kid cereals! Some boxes have kids movie admission and others are adult, so be careful to get the right boxes. They are selling right now at under $4 a box, so it is really worth it if you regularly pay $10 plus to go to a movie. You simply cut the coupon off the box and take it with you to the theater.

  • Month of April – Free Movie Admission
  • Month of May – Free Small pop corn at Cineplex concession
  • Month of June – buy 1 Get 1 Free movie admission
  • Month of July – Free small drink at Cineplex concession

(all of these are only valid Sunday-Thursday)

Another great deal on cereal boxes!

Cereal Coupons

One of the best deals this year has been the coupons on the back of cereal boxes.  We eat mini-wheats and there are $10 worth of coupons on the back of the box.  The interesting thing about these particular coupons is that you can usually find the products for less than the value of the coupon, making the product free.  This has been especially true with Nutri-Grain bars!

Coupons are:

  • $2 off Raisin Bran cereal, Just Right Cereal, Kelloggs Corn Flakes, All-Bran Bran Flakes
  • $2 off Large box of Eggo waffles (560g)
  • $2 off Rice Krispies Squares
  • $2 off Nutri-Grain Bars
  • $2 off any Fruit Loops Straws or Cocoa Krispies Straws

I stocked up on these coupons when I could find them.  I usually paid around $2.50 for a box of cereal and then received $10 in coupons.  Cereal is normally one of those things you have to buy, so this is an especially attractive deal!
